WHITE HOUSE – An area businesswoman is making a run for the mayor’s office this fall and believes she can work to make the city a better place.

Theresa Lott, a native of Nashville, moved to White House more than three years ago and is the owner of EXpress UR Way Shipping and EXpress UR Way Boutique.

“I’ve got more than 30 years of business experience and I believe that will help me serve the people of White House if I’m elected mayor,” she said. “You have to run the city like a business.”

Lott is a member of the White House Kiwanis Board of Directors and White House Rotary Club. She is also a member of the White House Chamber of Commerce and a published writer with more than 150 poems available to the public.

One of the issues Lott feels is important to the upcoming mayoral race is the construction of a new White House Heritage school in the area and the need for a recreational facility.

“We really need a YMCA here in White House,” she said. “So many residents are leaving the area to use other facilities when they could be staying here.”

Lott said she feels she is the best candidate for the job because she “… cares about the people and the issues,” she said. “Keeping the people informed about what is going on at city hall is important as well.”
